A Memorial Mass in honor of Ruth will be held at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Westfield on 6/8 at 6pm with light refreshments to follow in the parish hall.

It is with heavy hearts that we write to inform you of the passing of our Founder, Ruth Willemain. Ruth truly was an angel on earth. Ruth founded Harmony House in 2007 after many years of volunteering in local Hospice programs where she was concerned about people not having anyone or anywhere to pass on with dignity. Ruth did not want anyone to die alone or lonely. She dedicated her life’s work to build a home where people of little means could spend their last days in a home-like environment with people who compassionately cared for them. Her dedication, tireless efforts and tenacity led to the opening of Harmony House on Pendleton Ave in June 2017.

We want to assure you that the Board of Directors is committed to ensuring that Ruth’s vision endures. To that end, we are continuing to renovate our permanent home at 66 View Street in Chicopee. We will continue with the ongoing plans to serve and value our communities’ end of life needs as Ruth would have served and valued them.

Ruth made a positive impact on all our lives and the lives of those she served at the end of life. As a part of our Harmony House family, we are most certain she made an impact on your lives as well.

There will be a celebration of life at OLBS church at a later date. We will keep you informed.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we continue to tenaciously and fiercely champion on for our communities’ end of life needs in Ruth’s memory.

Our mission at Harmony House is to provide compassionate care for terminally ill individuals within a comfortable, loving, home-like environment.

Harmony House is a social model home for those who are facing the end of their lives alone, without adequate caregiver support. We are dedicated to maintaining the honor and dignity of each resident during the final stages of life.

All care and activities are supervised by trained staff, in coordination with the resident's own hospice team. Our compassionate team of volunteers provide 24-hour assistance with all aspects of resident care, including companionship, personal care, socialization, and meals.

If you have any questions, would like additional information about the services that we provide, or would like to tour our facility, please call us at 413-315-9784. Volunteers are also encouraged to contact us.

Harmony House is a registered 501(c)(3) corporation, and is funded entirely through the generosity of individuals, corporations, and foundations. Private financial support is essential to sustaining the mission of Harmony House, and your help is greatly appreciated.

The trillium flower is the logo of Harmony House, and is featured throughout our website. The three purple petals embody the three major areas of support that

we provide - Physical, Emotional and Spiritual. The three green sepals represent the three groups of caring individuals that deliver that support -  Hospice Teams, Staff, and our amazing Volunteers.
